The name suits the game perfectly :) You strive to collect materials to survive the nights in Survival Mode. We start with our bare hands and the first objective - collect resources needed to build your house to shield you from the monsters that come out at night ( Creepers, Skeletons, Zombies )

In creative mode, everything changes, you do not need to collect materials to craft items ( torches, pickaxes, wooden planks for housing ) that are vital in Survival Mode.
Creative mode means you get everthing. Be it creating a replica of an iTouch or even the Solar System, there is an unlimited of blocks for you. It's all up ion your head on how to use them.
